This Shabbat is Shabbat Hagadol, the Shabbat just before Pesach. Please see below for links to view Rabbi Saks’ sermon. Although there is a tradition that rabbis deliver an unusually long sermon on this day, Rabbi Saks is being kind to us and only speaking for seven and a half minutes. Also, please join us for virtual Kabbalat Shabbat before Shabbat on Friday and for Ma’ariv and Havdallah after Shabbat on Saturday. See details below.
Passover is nearly upon us, with the first Seder Wednesday night. It will undoubtedly be different from any we have experienced before. To enhance your celebration, there are two virtual events: a Model Seder this Sunday at 4 PM and Hallel and Yizkor services on Tuesday, April 14 at 11 AM. Details are below. Other Passover-related items below include a full schedule and sale of chametz info.
The April Shofar is now available online. We do not plan to mail it in printed form. Besides the usual features, it includes a section on “Pesach Myths and Facts.”

The Cafe Tamar committee has made the unhappy but necessary decision to cancel this year’s musical celebration. We are already looking forward to next year’s Cafe Tamar, which will take place Monday, May 24, 2021 and be dedicated to the memory of our beloved Lou Brown.
Looking forward to “seeing you” at one or more of our upcoming events. And wishing you as zissen and kosher a Pesach as your circumstances allow.
