Shabbat Afternoon Torah Study

A study of select sections of Talmud.  We are currently studying the topic:  Applying the Talmud to Daily Life. For our class schedule please view the Shabbat Bulletin or the Shofar.

Sunday Morning Ethics Class (9-10 am)

A study of contemporary ethical issues addressing interpersonal, family, societal business and medical dilemmas. Sources such as the Torah, Talmud, and rabbinical texts are applied to modern life.

Parsha and Pizza (Wednesdays 6:30-7:30)

Get ready for Shabbat by joining us for with a piece of pizza and an interactive study of the Torah portion of the week.

What Profits the Prophets?

The Chumash (5 Books of Moses) ends with a cliffhanger as the children of Israel are paused to enter the Land of Israel. We will study the Israelite conquest of the land and the establishment of the Kingdom of Israel as reported through the eyes of the biblical prophets. The issue of conversion has become highly politicized in both the U.S. and Israel. At times even within a movement a conversion will be recognized by some and not by others. Let’s put the politics aside and see what Halacha has to say regarding conversion.
